Sceptre 24-Inch Prime Monitor Review: Full HD Display with 100Hz Refresh Rate
The Sceptre E248W-19203R 24-inch Prime Monitor is a versatile Full HD LED monitor designed for everyday work, entertainment, and casual gaming. With a 1920×1080-class display, up to 100Hz refresh rate, 99% sRGB color coverage, built-in speakers, and multiple connectivity options, it offers a useful combination of image quality and convenience.
24-Inch Full HD Display
The 24-inch screen provides a comfortable workspace for browsing, office applications, studying, streaming, and general entertainment. Full HD resolution helps deliver clear text and detailed images without requiring the higher graphics demands associated with larger high-resolution displays.
The monitor's 99% sRGB coverage is one of its notable features. According to the listing, this provides a wider color gamut than conventional monitors, helping produce deeper colors and more defined visual details.
For everyday content creation and graphic-related work, the expanded sRGB coverage can provide a more enjoyable viewing experience, although professional color-critical users should still consider a monitor with dedicated color calibration features.
Up to 100Hz Refresh Rate
The Sceptre monitor supports up to 100Hz refresh rate, providing smoother motion than a traditional 60Hz display.
The higher refresh rate can make scrolling, cursor movement, animations, and supported games appear more fluid. It can be particularly useful for casual gaming and fast-moving content.
Two HDMI ports and one VGA port provide flexible connectivity, while the HDMI connections support the monitor's higher refresh-rate capability when paired with a compatible source and cable.
Gaming Features
The monitor includes dedicated FPS and RTS game modes. These are Sceptre's preset display settings designed for different gaming genres.
The FPS mode is intended for first-person shooter games, while RTS mode is designed for real-time strategy titles. These presets can make it easier to quickly adjust the display for gaming without manually changing multiple picture settings.
This monitor is better suited to casual and everyday gaming than competitive high-refresh-rate gaming, where considerably higher refresh rates and specialized gaming features may be preferred.
Multiple Connectivity Options
The E248W-19203R provides several connection options, including:
2 × HDMI
1 × VGA
Audio In
Headphone Jack
Having two HDMI ports is convenient for users who want to connect multiple modern devices, such as a desktop computer, laptop, streaming device, or game console.
The VGA connection can also be useful for older computers and equipment that do not have HDMI output.
Built-In Speakers
The monitor includes built-in speakers, eliminating the need for separate desktop speakers for basic audio.
This is particularly convenient for office work, video calls, streaming, and casual entertainment. Built-in speakers also help save desk space.
For users who want stronger bass, higher volume, or a more immersive gaming and movie experience, dedicated external speakers or headphones may still provide better sound.
Blue Light Shift for Comfortable Viewing
The Blue Light Shift feature is designed to reduce blue-light output from the display. This can be useful during extended periods of reading, office work, browsing, or watching content.
Users can adjust the display according to their environment and personal comfort. Reducing blue-light output may make the screen more comfortable for some users, particularly during evening use, although it does not replace good screen habits and regular breaks.
100 × 100mm Mounting Support
The monitor features a 100mm × 100mm mounting hole pattern, providing compatibility with appropriately sized VESA-style monitor mounts and arms.
This can be useful for users who want to improve desk organization, adjust monitor positioning, or create a multi-monitor workstation. Buyers should verify that their selected mount supports the monitor's weight and mounting requirements.
