ASUS Vivobook 17 Laptop Review: Big Screen, Everyday Performance and Practical Features
The ASUS Vivobook 17 F1704VAP-ES77 is designed for users who want a large-screen laptop without giving up modern performance and everyday convenience. With a 17.3-inch Full HD display, Intel Core 7 150U processor, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Windows 11 Home, and WiFi 6, it offers a well-rounded configuration for productivity, entertainment, study, and home-office use.
Large 17.3-Inch Full HD Display
One of the biggest attractions of the Vivobook 17 is its spacious 17.3-inch Full HD display. The slim-bezel NanoEdge design provides a more immersive viewing area while keeping the overall appearance modern.
The display also features wide viewing angles, making it convenient when sharing content with someone sitting nearby. TÜV Rheinland-certified eye-care technology adds another practical advantage for people who spend extended periods reading, browsing, working, or studying on their laptop.
Whether you're working with documents, watching videos, browsing the web, or attending online meetings, the larger screen provides plenty of room to work comfortably.
Intel Core 7 150U and 16GB RAM
The laptop is powered by an Intel Core 7 150U processor and comes with 16GB of RAM. This combination is designed for smooth everyday multitasking.
You can work with multiple browser tabs, productivity applications, communication tools, and other everyday programs without relying on a minimal memory configuration. For students, office workers, remote professionals, and home users, the 16GB RAM configuration provides useful flexibility.
The Vivobook 17 isn't presented as a dedicated high-end gaming or workstation laptop, but its hardware is well suited to everyday productivity, entertainment, and general computing.
Fast 1TB SSD Storage
Storage is another strong point. The ASUS Vivobook 17 includes a 1TB SSD, giving you substantial space for documents, photos, videos, applications, and other files.
An SSD also provides the responsive experience expected from a modern laptop, making everyday file access and system operation convenient compared with traditional mechanical storage.
For users who regularly store large collections of files, the 1TB capacity can reduce the need for immediate external storage.
Windows 11 Home and WiFi 6
The Vivobook 17 comes with Windows 11 Home, providing a familiar modern desktop environment for work, study, entertainment, and personal use.
It also supports WiFi 6, providing modern wireless connectivity for compatible networks. This is useful for users who rely heavily on wireless internet for cloud applications, video streaming, online meetings, downloads, and general browsing.
SonicMaster Audio
ASUS equips the laptop with a SonicMaster-tuned audio system designed to provide clear and balanced sound.
For everyday activities such as watching movies, listening to music, attending online meetings, or playing casual games, the built-in speakers provide a convenient audio solution without requiring external speakers for basic use.
Comfortable ErgoSense Keyboard with Numeric Keypad
The ASUS ErgoSense keyboard is another useful feature for productivity-focused users. Its design focuses on comfortable key travel and feedback, while the integrated numeric keypad makes entering numbers easier.
This can be especially useful for spreadsheets, accounting tasks, data entry, calculations, and other work where frequently entering numbers is part of the workflow.
Fast Charging for Added Convenience
The Vivobook 17 supports fast charging, allowing a low battery to reach 60% in as little as 49 minutes, according to the listed specifications.
For busy users, this can be helpful when you need to quickly recharge the laptop before heading to work, class, a meeting, or another location.
Privacy-Focused Webcam Cover
Online meetings are common, but webcam privacy is also important. The Vivobook 17 includes a physical webcam cover that can be slid into place when the camera isn't being used.
This provides a simple, direct way to cover the webcam and gives users additional privacy when working from home, traveling, or using the laptop in shared spaces.
Lay-Flat Hinge for Collaboration
The laptop also features a lay-flat hinge, allowing the display to open flat. This can make it easier to share content with people sitting across from you or collaborate around a table.
It's a small design feature, but one that can be useful in classrooms, meetings, presentations, and collaborative work environments.
Military-Grade Durability
The ASUS Vivobook 17 is built to meet the US MIL-STD 810H military-grade standard. This provides an additional durability specification for users who want a laptop designed with everyday reliability in mind.
While this should not be interpreted as making the laptop indestructible, compliance with the stated standard adds confidence for normal use at home, in the office, or while traveling.
Plenty of Connectivity Options
The Vivobook 17 offers a versatile selection of ports, including USB Type-A and USB Type-C connections, with USB-C power delivery support, along with HDMI, a combo audio jack, and DC-in.
This makes it easier to connect common accessories such as external displays, USB devices, headphones, and other peripherals without relying entirely on adapters.
Who Is the ASUS Vivobook 17 Best For?
This laptop is particularly suitable for users who prioritize a large display and everyday productivity. It can be a good fit for:
Students and online learners
Home and office users

Business productivity
