AOCHUAN Smart XE 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer Review

The AOCHUAN Smart XE 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer is designed for smartphone creators who want smoother, steadier, and more professional-looking videos. With 3-axis stabilization, AI face tracking, gesture control, a focus wheel, and a foldable design, it offers useful tools for TikTok creators, YouTubers, vloggers, and anyone who enjoys smartphone photography and videography.

Powerful 3-Axis Smartphone Stabilization

The Smart XE uses three brushless motors and an enhanced 7.0-generation anti-shake algorithm to help reduce unwanted movement while recording. This can be particularly useful when walking, hiking, filming sports, creating vlogs, or shooting handheld videos.

The gimbal supports iPhones and most Android smartphones, with a listed payload capacity of up to 250 grams. Before purchasing, users should verify that their specific phone meets the gimbal's compatibility and weight requirements.

Easy Horizontal and Vertical Shooting

One-click switching between horizontal and vertical modes makes the gimbal convenient for different types of social media content. Vertical shooting is particularly useful for TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram-style content, and other portrait-oriented videos.

The flexible shooting setup also makes the Smart XE suitable for livestreaming, selfies, food photography, travel videos, and everyday content creation.

Focus Wheel and Zoom Control

The built-in focus wheel and zoom slider provide additional control while recording. Instead of relying entirely on touchscreen controls, creators can make adjustments directly from the gimbal.

The adjustable focus speed can provide more control over how quickly focus changes during filming, making the setup useful for users who want to experiment with more cinematic-looking smartphone footage.

AI Face Tracking and Gesture Control

One of the Smart XE's standout features is AI Face Track 4.0 through the AOCHUAN app. Face tracking can help keep a subject within the frame while recording, which is especially useful when filming yourself without another person operating the camera.

Gesture control adds another hands-free option, allowing users to control supported shooting functions without constantly touching their phone or gimbal.

AOCHUAN App and Shooting Modes

The AOCHUAN app provides access to different shooting features and modes. According to the listing, these include:

  • Panorama

  • Wide-angle

  • Cinematic and movie modes

  • Live streaming

  • Time-lapse

  • Motion-lapse

  • Face tracking

  • Gesture control

The app can also provide tutorials and help users optimize supported smartphone camera settings.

Foldable and Portable Design

The Smart XE has a foldable design with a listed net weight of only 0.78 pounds, making it convenient to carry in a backpack or camera bag.

Its compact design is particularly useful for travel creators, hikers, vloggers, and anyone who wants a stabilizer that can be transported without taking up too much space.

Up to 10 Hours of Battery Life

A built-in 2600mAh battery provides up to approximately 10 hours of continuous shooting, according to the supplied listing.

Long battery life can be useful for full-day content creation, livestreaming, travel videos, and extended recording sessions. Actual runtime can vary depending on usage and operating conditions.
